  • I am not confident in my artistic ability ... can I still come?

    YES! We welcome all skill levels, all mediums, all the time. Some events are especially good for beginners. Tuesday night drawing club, paint and sips, intro workshops, and all community / mixer events are great places to start :)

    We provide basic supplies including colored pencil, pen, pencil, charcoal, marker, and newsprint paper!

  • how do i get there?

    We have two locations - our main location is at 285 Washington Street in somerville! It is a 8 minute walk from the union sq stop on the green line. We are also accessible by bus and bike! You can park in front of the building or at the school across the street after 4:30pm on weekdays, in the reliable market parking lot, or in the street!

    we are not responsible for any parking tickets!

  • do you give instruction?

    We have workshops each month to provide a dynamic variety of instruction, and several of our figure session include it! Tuesday Night Drawing Club, Wednesday Morning Meditation, and Sunday Portrait Study regularly have demos, but you can ask help or advice from the host at any session you attend!

  • do i need to be a member to get the app?

    No! The app is for everyone :) You can stay up to date on workshops, sessions, calls for art, community events, and fun art gossip by downloading the app.

  • is the space available for private events?

    Yes! We offer rentals for the space as a whole, and individual rooms within it for private events. Our whole space is your studio, but if you’re interested in a private studio, please inquire at draw@bostonfac.com

  • I'm a member, how do I use my guest pass?

    Yesss spread the love! Members get 2 guest passes per month to use for figure sessions, co-working, or just hanging out in the main space. Sign your guest in at the front desk, or email draw@bostonfac.com in advance with the date and your names.

    By bringing a guest, you take on responsibility for making sure they follow our studio guidelines! 

  • how difficult is it to cancel membership?

    We're sad to see you go! If something isn't working, please reach out to us at draw@bostonfac.com - we'd love to help before you leave.

    If you're sure, here's how to cancel:

    On the app: Go to More (bottom right) → Purchase → scroll to your membership → tap the red Cancel button.

    On the website: Go to your profilePasses & Memberships → click the settings icon next to your membership → Cancel.

    You can also email us at draw@bostonfac.com and we'll take care of it for you. Note that we require at least 10 days notice before your next scheduled payment.
